During the summer of 2017 we were able, with donations, to start an immense journey. We started work on the cantina with unexpected help. These volunteers were special and their strength and graciousness went above and beyond.

Our efforts are to benefit military veterans, their families, village youth and the human community.
The red door at 705 Railroad Ave is open to the public whenever weather and time permit. In 2013, A Veteran Affair applied for, received and in the summer of 2014 orchestrated the Frontier Communities Initiative Façade Squad facilitating the repair and painting of the faces of three buildings on the avenue. For this transformation the three property owners received the auspicious Department of Cultural Affairs Cultural Heritage Organization Award. This was a New Mexico MainStreet endeavor. Awe Inspiring!
The first village art fests were held in 2015 and 2016. The next village art fest will be held May 25th and 26th, 2019. Entrants will not be charged a fee to participate. We know that Memorial Day is an emotional time for the veteran community. Rather than taps, tears and speeches, we focus upon gratitude for our time on Earth, appreciation of the strength of the human character, of beauty and creative energies. Welcome.
